Ebu the Great Dane is looking for a new home...

I received the following email from my friend's Jesse and Kim. The have fostered for my rescue before, and are amazing people. They are fostering Ebu, the gentlest of giants. He is looking for a furever home.

Message:

Hello all – (even if you might not want to adopt, do you know anyone who might be interested?)

Here is our new foster Ebu. He is a 6-7 year old Fawn Great Dane who was, unfortunately, given up by his owners’ b/c they could no longer afford to feed him (he's about 100 lbs now, but should be at least 130lbs). The Mid- Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League picked him up from this awful shelter he was in and placed him in a kennel in West Virginia. We got the call, and Kim, Rogi, and Pansy drove out to West Virginiaabout a week ago and picked him up. He is getting 3 hots and cot each day now and doing very well. He is slowly putting weight on and adjusting to the good life with daily walks, a lot of treats, multiple naps, and plenty of lovin'.

So a little about him. He gets along very well with other dogs (including our girls after the first day everyone calmed down when they realized he would be staying and he realized that their food bowls are not his food bowls). He is very well behaved, very sweet and it goes without saying very food motivated. He will do most anything for a treat. He goes to his crate without objection, sleeps soundly on his dog bed at night, will sit for you, give you his paw and loves to play. For a 6-7 year old he has good energy. He loves walks and has no issues with a leash or a gentle leader. All of his vet records came back excellent no health issues. House-trained and will let you know with some cries and pacing that he needs to go out. He loves to be cuddled, loves to come right to your face to check you out. He is figuring out bones and toys but loves a bone filled with peanut butter (who doesn’t?).

He would be good in a house with other dogs and children (although probably not with a baby, b/c he is a little clumsy you might just need to pay attention). Not sure about cats but he does not come across as aggressive toward any animal (does not notice squirrels on our walks for instance). He would probably be ok at home alone without another pet in the house but would enjoy the company too.

Anyway if you or anyone you know might be interested - -please let us know. Send this far and wide.

Anyone interested would need to go through www.magdrl.org (Mid- Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League) and fill out a specific application for Ebu.

Hope all is well –

You can also email me if you're interested and want more info on this guy. I can put you in touch with the foster parents. Anyone that adopts him will be very lucky!!!

Just because an animal is large, it doesn't mean he doesn't want kindness; however big Tigger seems to be, remember that he wants as much kindness as Roo.
