Leche (Formerly Bogart)

This is Leche. Leche means milk in spanish. I had him pulled at the final hour out of a high kill Georgia shelter. I couldn't resist pulling him. Especially after I saw this photo of him. I call this silent sorrow....He is deaf. The shelter felt this made him unadoptable. (which of course is not true). These shelters find it easier to euthanize them than to find rescues.
In any case, I was able to pull him thanks to the help of a woman named Debb who runs a group called S.T.I.C.K.S. They assist in getting dogs pulled out of these high kill shelters in NC, SC, and GA and work in getting them into rescue. http://www.sticksorg.com/. They are a wonderful organization.
When Leche arrived in VA, among other things, he had a terrible respiratory infection, flees, and he wasn't neutered. He was pretty much a mess! I got him to the vet and we got him all better and put into foster care. They took amazing care of him and he thrived.
Thankfully, a wonderful woman named Mickey Clipper read his story and immediately applied to adopt him. He now lives with his brother Winfrey and has a wonderful life in Washington, DC. Here are some photos of him now. He is a very happy boy!!

Thank you Mickey for adopting Leche and giving him such a wonderful home!!

This is him at Christmas.

This is Lechey and Winfrey

His face in this photo says, "Oh mom-why did you make me wear this?..Hurry up and take the photo".
They love playing in the snow! This photo was from his first snow.

Look at this face!!! I love this guy. He will always have a special place in my heart.
I love you Leche.

We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.
